Essence Health & Wellbeing Pty Ltd is owned and operated by Margaret (Margie) McConvill, a highly qualified complementary therapy practitioner with a wide range of knowledge and experience.

She is particularly well known and respected for her 14 years of ownership and management of the renowned Shizuka Ryokan japanese country spa & wellness retreat in Hepburn Springs, a winner of the prestigious Victorian Tourism Award for Health and Wellbeing Tourism. Whilst Margie still contracts her spa services to Shizuka Ryokan and makes their spa and guest amenity product range, she now operates her own treatment spa in Hepburn Springs.

Margie, with her wide skill base, is able to personalise wellness services to her clients depending on their particular health and wellbeing requirements.

Not owning a busy hospitality and tourism business has also allowed Margie to offer her wellness services to Home Care Package Clients as well as teach introductory courses in Aromatherapy and Reflexology through the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre. In 2024 Margie joined the admin team at Hepburn House, in a part-time role, to welcome and support the residents and nursing staff at this beautiful local aged care facility. In 2026 Margie completed her qualifications in aged care and will also add personal care support services to her portfolio of skills.

Margie moved from the busy corporate world in Sydney, over 20 years ago, to follow her passion of working in the spa and wellness environment of Hepburn Springs.  She is in her “happy” place working with complementary therapies and nurturing her clients to restore their health and wellbeing.

Margie has previously supported her local community as a volunteer with the Daylesford SES, however, due to work commitments has now stepped down from this role.

Margaret teaches a number of reflexology and aromatherapy workshops at the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre.

Other Services

Margie has created a range of nourishing skincare products including cleansers, face scrubs, face serums, and moisturisers for a number of clients and uses these products during her facial treatments.  They are also available for sale.

Margie also designs aromatherapy blends for shampoos, conditioners, body washes and body lotions.

Individually prescribed blends and products can also be made for personalised skincare issues.
